Thai Ladyboys have become some of my absolute favorites. Their energy is infectious, always radiating good vibes and a spirit of fun. If you ever find yourself with the chance, I wholeheartedly suggest attending a Ladyboy show. It’s an experience that promises laughter and maybe even a tear or two of joy.
Ladyboys love attention, so give them some. They are used to having men’s and women’s jaws drop in shock. So be kind and make a new friend.
It’s important to be respectful and polite around Ladyboys. Always remember these are men and some of very strong, you do not want to make one mad. (getting mad and making a scene is not part of the Thai culture, but it can happen)
Always remember that Ladyboys make a living entertaining tourists like you and me.
They paid a lot of money to look beautiful, so if you take pictures with one please always tip them, it’s how they support themselves and their families.
All those sexy outfits and makeup aren’t cheap!
Always stay vigilant around Ladyboys as they are sometimes used as distractions for pickpockets, so always make sure to have your money belt and other personal items in a safe place.
So you want to meet some Ladyboys…I got you!
In Thailand, you can become anyone you desire at night. All societal rules are gone, and people become who they truly are.
So whatever you’ve heard about Thai ladyboys… it’s true! Once the sun goes down, they come out to play. These gorgeous shemales will have you looking twice, I can guarantee it. Here are a few of the top places to meet some of the most beautiful ladyboys.
Nana Plaza, located in Bangkok, is not for the faint of heart. It’s pretty much an outdoor sex party. As you walk into the Plaza, you will be blinded by red lights scattered all over the place with flashy neon signs luring you into this fantasy world filled with gorgeous “women” all trying to grab your attention and a few other things…
Be careful as some of these Thai Ladyboys are very aggressive and will not shy away from grabbing your nuts and squeezing them. You want to stay away from these ones as all they want is your money.
As you walk around the plaza you will bump into a few girls that will chat with you and try to take you upstairs for some extracurricular activities…they typically use this line on foreigners (You in Bangkok, why not *wink*)
Top bars to go to:
Most of the Ladyboys at Nana Plaza are working bar girls, just know that if you want to sit down and have a drink with one, it will cost you 300 Baht and if you want to go upstairs to have some fun it will be an additional 1000 Baht. With that said if you want the full Ladyboy experience, it’s going to cost you around 52$.

A few blocks down from Nana Plaza, you will find Soi Cowboy another very similar red-light district, but much more toned down than Nana Plaza. Soi Cowboy is mostly known for its go-go bars, but it does have one Ladyboy bar named Cockatoo.
Top bar:
One thing you will notice at these bars is that most women and ladyboys have numbers attached to them. In order to request a certain Ladyboy, you simply need to ask the Mama-san in charge and she will introduce you.

One word to describe this place. CHAOS, total absolute madness, but in a good way! Once you enter Bangla road, be prepared, it’s an experience like no other especially if you’re a white foreign guy, they will pounce on you so fast! There are 3 kinds of ladyboys here, there are the shy and quiet ones simply waiting for you to talk to them, then there are the extremely aggressive ones who will not shy away from grabbing your junk and whispering in your ear “boom boom”….you get the idea! The sex scenes is at an all-time high in Bangla road, so be prepared as you will get harassed.
The third kind is my absolute favorite, they are the funny and outgoing ones. These are the ones you want to hang out with and get to know as they are not trying to get in your pants.
In between all the Ladyboys, you will have Thai go-go bar girls, Thai bar girls, and Thai freelance girls scattered all along the road trying to hustle you for your money. Good luck!
Top Bar:
Here are the prices for the girls: 120-160 Baht for drinks, 500-600 Baht for the bar fine, 1,000-2,000 Baht for short time, 2,000-3,000 Baht for a long time. Of course, the price you ask the girl is negotiable, but these are the current normal rates, which she would most likely tell you if you ask her in the bar.

If you're looking for the best Ladyboy show in all of Phuket I recommend checking out The Simon Cabaret Show.
Pattaya…where do I even start? In my personal opinion, this is one of the most intense places in Thailand. Known for its famous Walking Street, this place is loaded with gorgeous Thai ladyboys. One of the most popular and famous places to experience and meet them is at the famous Alcazar Cabaret Show.
Top Bars: Kitty Bar
After the show, they all congregate outside to allow the spectators to take photos with them, for a fee of course, which is usually 100 Bath. There are also many freelance Thai Ladyboys on Walking Street at night, as mentioned, some of them are very aggressive and will grab your junk. Just laugh it off and go with it.
I score this place…
Patpong…here we go! Known as one of the many red-light districts in Bangkok, this place is crawling with Thai Ladyboys and go-go bars.
On the flip side, this district mostly caters to Thai locals instead of foreigners. Why? I don’t really know…but it sure is a blast no matter what.
Top Bar: Kings Castle 3
When it comes to red-light districts, Patpong is not the most popular as it is very business oriented and the quality of the Ladyboys is just not as good at other places.
As mentioned previously, a night out with Thai Ladyboys can get expensive, especially in Bangkok.
But do not let that deter you from having a good time. Just be safe, it gets crazy out there!

My Friend Drew Binsky made an excellent video explaining the entire Thai Ladyboy culture. check it out below!
Never travel without travel insurance!
As a digital nomad I always use SafetyWing, because it covers everything, and it's super affordable. The best part is that you can actually order the insurance if you already left for your trip. You can read my full review here
